How does Buy Before You Sell work?

Get approved in 24 hours or less with no commitment. Once approved, you can access a portion of your home equity to make a non-contingent offer on your new home. After closing, you have 21 days to list your prior home and 120 days to sell it.

Do I need to make a contingent offer?

No! That's the key advantage. You can submit a competitive offer with no home sale contingency, which can save you 1-3% on the purchase price of your new home in competitive markets.

What are the property requirements?

Your current home must be valued between $250K-$2.5M, on no more than 5 acres, and be your primary residence. Government financing (FHA, VA) cannot be used on either the existing or new home.

What if my home doesn't sell?

HomeLight provides a backup guarantee. If your home doesn't sell within 120 days, HomeLight will buy the property and continue working to sell it. Any profits above HomeLight's costs go to you.

How long do I have to sell my current home?

You have 21 days after closing on your new home to list your prior home on the market, and 120 days total to get it sold.

What are the costs?
